Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi's Marriage to Farah Diba

Mahmud MirzaHosseini

Following the Shah's divorce to Sorayya Esfandiyari, some people including Qotbi were dissatisfied with this affair. Shahnaz Pahlavi was among the people who wished to choose a suitable wife for the Shah who would help to the survival of Pahlavi dynasty. Not long after their acquaintance, she paved the path for a meeting between her father and Farah.

The Shah offered his marriage proposal to her when they were flying on a helicopter controlled by the Shah, himself, and Shahnaz being present.

Bakhtiar's visit to Sorayya Pahlavi in Paris, the rumors of Mohammad Reza Shah's engagement to Guabriella du  Sava (ex king of Italy, Umbertoy the second's daughter), Shahanaz's endeavors for Farah's marriage to her father. Travels of Farah's family members to France to buy clothing, and Farah's marriage portion are among the records included.
