Moussa Haqqani

As a combatant and Mujahid clergy, late Ayatollah Seyyed Mahmud Taleqani who had learnt the lesson of jihad from Imam Hussein’s school never gave up struggle against despotism and imperialism. He regarded Islam as an all-embracing school which had many to say to relieve the today’s humanity from ignorance, despotism and reaching to its utopian society. He had foreseen the deadlock of other schools in guiding human towards freedom and happiness and believed that only it is under the great teachings of Islam which were plausible with human nature, the Moslems could release themselves from the claws of imperialism. Despite those who believed that only military and partisan activity is the way to save Islamic societies, he knew that awakening of people through teachings of Koran would help them to release them from chains of imperialism.

He found out that the salvage of human beings depend on their having recourse to the holy Koran.  He proposed in order not to lose the right path, they should follow the life of some Imams including Imam Hussein and the twelfth imam. Through this manner, he succeeded to prevent the deviation of the revolutionary groups, and not let them being trapped in the snares of pragmatism.   He believed that heightening the level of knowledge and then embarking in struggle are better tactics. His resistance in prison and his tolerance against the tortures proved that his advices were not out of conservatism, but because of deviations most pragmatists were afflicted with. Revisions in the principles were the blight most members of Monafeqin organization were afflicted with which caused their moral and intellectual downfall. From struggle against imperialism and Zionism, they moved to make peace with and serve them.
