Safaadin Tabarraiyan

Gholam Abbass Aram is included among mysterious elements of Iran's contemporary history. Based on the following document it is evident that one day after the success of the Islamic revolution, he went to the guards of the national consultative council to offer his resignation, from the senate.

He was originally from Yazd. His father lost his life in the event which led to the murder of many Bahayi. The very event through which Mirza Reza Qannad, Hovida's grandfather fled to Abbass Afandi in Palestine. It is said that he is named Gholam Abbass after Abbass Afandi. For a time he entered the British forces service in Kerman. Then he was a cleaning man at the British hospital. Then he went to India. In February 17, 1930, he got an Iranian national identity card from Iran's consulate in Delhi and became the translater of the consulate there. Late on, he was employed officially in the ministry of foreign affairs. In January 21, 1936 was the counselor of the Iranian embassy in Baghdad. Then consul general and from August 19, 1953 the counselor of Iranian embassy in Washington. Then he was appointed Iranian minister to Washington. He became the director of the political bureau of the ministry of foreign affairs in June 1956. He was Iranian ambassador to Japan in February 1958. Eventually in August 1959 was appointed minister of foreign affairs in Eqball's cabinet. He kept his portfolio in the cabinets of Ali Amini, Assaddollah Alam, Hassan Ali Mansur and Amir Abbass Hovida. He was appointed minister in five cabinets, not a very usual matter. He was a devoted to the British policies in Iran. He was arrested in late 1979 and was imprisoned for three years. Six months after his release, he died in 1983. He did not marry at all.
