Mozaffari has been
founded in Booshehr with the management of Mirza
AbdolHamid Khan Matin-ol-Saltaneh. The first issue of it
was lithographed in and the news of its publication was
reflected in "Adab" issue no. 11, second year under the
title of "Mozaffari newspaper in Booshehr". The first
issue of the forth year of Mozaffari was published in
Booshehr in 16 pages with a good paper and with typography
and without any indication of its manager, publisher and
founder.
The name of the newspaper has been written twice in
cursive writing and on top of the newspaper. There is the
sign of the lion and sun above, and under it the year of
its foundation has been printed. Its subscription fee in
Booshehr for 6 months was 18 krans and annually it was 28
krans in other Iran's territorials 2 Tomans and 36 Krans.
In India 6 and 10 rupees and throughout Europe 10 Francs
and in Russia and Turkestan respectively 4 and 7 Menats.
The price of advertisements was 1 Kran per a line.
Mozaffari was a free newspaper and was published 3 times
monthly.
Under the title of the newspaper, this description has
came. In this newspaper different news and useful subjects
such as industry, literary and scientific essays and any
bill which contains national and governmental interests,
are discussed, and disinterested writings which will not
be contradictory to the government and religion will be
accepted and printed and the writings which are not
published, will not returned to its writer. In each issue,
the list of contents has been printed in the first page.
From the beginning of the forth year, after the travel of
the late Mirza AliAgha Shirazi, the manager of Mozaffari
to India for supplying. Typography equipments and his
return to Booshehr, the newspaper has been published in
typography. The first issue of the seventh year was
published during 16 weeks and in a small size while there
is no reference to Booshehr printing house in it. In this
issue there is a report under the title of (Arz-e-Makhsous)*
indicating that the sixth year of its publication came to
the end and the ignorant friends prevented from its
improvement. Also in this issue, the orders of Ulama and
religious scholars about the necessity of obedience
towards the National Consultative Assembly has been
printed.
The board of Mozaffari and its suppression
Mozaffari was among free newspaper which acted in parallel
with "Hablolmatin" of India; then because Hablolmatin was
not available, they took some steps for Mozaffari
suppression and prevented its publication as it comes in
the following lines:
At the time of premiership of Ein-od-Doleh Mozaffari was
suppressed and its manager, Agha Mirza Ali Agha
Labib-ol-Molk was imprisoned. His arrest was coincident
with the forth year of the newspaper's publication.
Sometimes later, with the mediation of Etemad-os-Saltaneh
then the minister of publications, the newspaper was
released from suppression. This matter has been printed in
the issue no. 26, the third year of Chehre Nama which was
published in Egypt dated under the title of " Lidings to
the board of Education and Nationalists."
The director of Mozaffari after two years staying in
Booshehr and the publication of the newspaper, in the time
of Bombardment of Najlis and banishment of the
freedom-loving from Tehran, escaped from Booshehr and went
to India. He met Modabber-ol-Mamalek Harandi, the manager
of Tamaddon there and left for Egypt. After he left for
Mecca, he established Moaffari newspaper there and
published one issue of it.
After establishing of Constitutional regime and the return
of Constitutionalists to his country, the manager of
Mozaffari also return from his journey to India, Egypt and
Hijaz and he published his newspaper in his home Booshehr
once more.
After 2 years staying in Booshehr and publishing of
Mozaffari he was arrested in bath by the order of Booshehr
ruler Movaghar-od-Doleh and then they exiled him to Rig
port and again Mozaffari was closed. Then after one and
half year staying in Rig port and Karbala he entered to
Booshehr and had decided to go out from country it they
wouldn't have agreed with his staying there but his
opponents without giving him any chance, expelled him from
that port. He after disappointment from coming to Iran,
decided to found a newspaper in Karbala. Then he founded
and published a newspaper there named Intigam. Mozaffari
with this name was published by his son Mirza Mohammad
Karim Shirazi after his death and its issues no. 3 and 4
was published en masse with previous style and characters
in 8 pages and with small size, and it was printed 4
issues in one month.
