Cultural Institutions in
Reza Shah’s Reign
The years between
1925-1941 can be called the most critical and important
years of Iranian Contemporary history; because in this
period, a wide-range attempt was made to change the social
and cultural institutions of the country, till ultimately
to stable the political dominance of Pahlavi regime.
Establishing dictatorship, encouraging ancient-oriented
nationalism, avoiding Islamic values, and supporting the
western culture were the most fundamental manifestations
of cultural policy of Reza Shah’s period, which were
realized in the society by appealing to various devices.
In this regard, different laws were made and several
organizations and centers were founded to accelerate the
accessing process of these aims.
